“Assessing and Treating Stereotypic Behavior”
Presenter: Chris Roath, B.S.
This informational session will cover what stereotypy is, why stereotypy happens, and common treatments to decrease stereotypy. The presentation will include a walk-through of assessments that can be conducted by caregivers at home and by teachers at school, along with behavioral treatments for stereotypy. This lecture is ideal for parents, teachers, students, and professionals. There is no cost to attend, and a complimentary lunch will be provided by JSC Federal Credit Union following the lecture. To reserve your space or get more information, please e-mail autismcenter@uhcl.edu. (Please RSVP no later than November 4th if you would like the complimentary lunch).
The presentation will be held in Lecture Hall 1100 of the Student Services Building on the UHCL campus from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
