SUMMER PROGRAM
Family Fishing
April 17th from 10am-12pm
Lake Friendswood Park
2533 Davis Prairie Ln.
Friendswood, TX 77546
We will have multiple fishing trips to multiple parks throughout the year.
Fishing trips are limited to 4 families due to limited TPWD volunteers.
The TPWD will be providing fishing gear and bait, if you have your own you can bring it as well. The TPWD will be teaching how to fish and learn about different types of fish.
We are going to have our first fishing trip with the adults with Down syndrome because this park does not have a playground. After the group is finished with fishing you can enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own food and drinks) and enjoy the park. Please bring lawn chairs, bug spray, and sunscreen.
The park has 2 fishing docks, 1 kayak/canoe launch, 1 pavilion with 4 picnic tables, 1 restroom building, multiple fitness workout stations along a 1 mile hiking/jogging/biking trail, picnic tables, benches, and small barbeque pits. The lake is stocked 4 times a year by Texas Parks & Wildlife.
We will have a Waiting List for you to register so we know how many families are interested in fishing and we can plan other trips to accommodate 4 families at a time. We will have fishing trips at parks that do have playgrounds for those who have younger kids, when they are through with fishing they can play on the playgrounds.
**A fishing license is required at this park, you must abide by the Texas Freshwater Fishing Regulations, those 17 and older must have a fishing license, those with Ds are not required to have a license but must be accompanied by a parent with a license. A one day license costs $11, see links below.
