SUMMER PROGRAM

Firefly Hike at Armand Bayou Nature Center

Choose 1 date only:

April 30th from 745-945pm - FULL
May 21st from 750-950pm
June 18th from 815-1015pm
Times are scheduled due to sunset times.
Please arrive at the front gate 15 minutes before the start of your hike time and our guides will meet you there.

This event is for ages 6 and up due to ABNC policy.

Guests are limited to 8 people for each event, due to limit these events will be for the child/children with Ds and 1 parent only, no siblings.

There will be a Parent Fee for $8 which is non-refundable.

**This is a prepaid event, if you cancel within 7 days of the event or no show you will be charged $8 per person.

FIREFLY HIKES, A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

  • Twinkling lights will soon be seen within the prairie and forest of ABNC.

  • Certainly, a delight for those of us who remember the warm summer nights of chasing fireflies through our neighborhoods.

  • Our evening will begin with a brief presentation on our beloved lightning bugs followed by a walk in the darkness.

Know before you go

  • To allow for social distancing, the maximum capacity of the hike is 8 people

  • Our guides will maintain a social distance of 6 feet between themselves and your group

  • To protect our guests and volunteers, masks will be required during the hike

  • We recommend that you bring water, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer

  • If you have red lights, feel free to bring them with you

  • We recommend that you wear long pants for the hike

  • Please wear closed-toe shoes

  • These hikes are for ages 6 and up

  • The hike will be approximately 1.5 to 2 hours

 ***Bring plenty of water, there is NO water fountain or water to purchase.

**You must have a current Annual Membership to register for this summer program.**
